There’s nothing like a delicious tart for a spring lunch with friends! This pesto tart is both indulgent and light, making it the perfect dish to enjoy on a sunny day. Served with a crisp salad and a chilled glass of white wine, it promises a convivial moment full of flavor. Easy to make and irresistible to share, it’s bound to become a seasonal favorite.
Ingredients
1 puff pastry sheet
2 bunches of basil
1 garlic clove
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon pine nuts
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 bunch of green asparagus
(Optional) Ham, mortadella, burrata, crushed pistachios, etc.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Prepare the pastry: Roll out the puff pastry on a parchment paper. Prick it with a fork, avoiding the edges.
Make the pesto: Blend the basil with olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan until smooth. Spread the pesto evenly over the pastry.
Prepare the asparagus: Slice them in half lengthwise and arrange them on top of the pesto without overlapping.
Season: Drizzle with olive oil, then add salt and pepper to taste.
Bake: Place in the oven for about 20 minutes, until the pastry is golden and crisp.
Finishing touch: Once out of the oven, optionally add burrata, ham, or crushed pistachios for extra flavor.
